Avoid any sun exposure and artificial tanning, which will darken the skin.
Don’t wax or pluck the area for six weeks prior to laser treatment.
Shave the area the day before a laser treatment.
Clean and dry the skin.
Don’t apply any lotion, powder or deodorant.
Some pain, swelling, redness and tenderness are common around the hair follicles. However, these side effects usually subside within a day or so following the treatment. For post-laser care:
Apply cold compresses to relieve any discomfort.
Slather on an emollient cream to hydrate skin.
See a doctor if blisters develop. Antibiotic treatment might be required to prevent infection.
Stay out of the sun.
